Read Starlight Over Detrot with me.

The story is about.

Monster attacks. Crime. Illegal hallucinogens made from electric fruit.

They say things didn't use to be like this. They say things were different, before Luna came back 60 years ago, but Detective Hard "Hardy" Boiled of the Detrot Police Department has never known any world other than that demarcated by the seedy streets of his beloved decaying metropolis; a world in which the coroners sing and dance, surveillance bugs have personality disorders, and the Chief of Police is a scarier entity than most of the eldritch things the city attracts.

The grey unicorn who turned up dead outside the posh High Step Hotel seemed like just another case, but her missing horn is the pointy tip of a very large and nasty iceberg. It's up to Hardy and his friends - a rejected monster hunter, a psychic cab driver, and an underground antiques heir - to find out what’s going on in an investigation that promises to stick more than a cupcake into the very eye of Detrot.

Especially if Hardy has anything to say about it.

Act One, Chapter 10: The Spy Who Wubbed Me

Chapter 10: Published October 24th 2012 was on a Wednesday and was in week 43 of 2012.

As of this writing it was 3,088 days ago

FiM season six, epi 4 would publish on "On Your Marks" April 9, 2016

Magic is unpredictable by its very nature, and such devices operate on the basis of rules that are bizarre, arbitrary, or applicable in every circumstance except when it would suddenly be most inconvenient for them not to.

*snort* This is just life in general.

“Riiight... yer lookin’ for a pony in this place who is good with restraints, information extraction, and keepin’ secrets. Nope, why would we eeever employ one o’ them? Try again, smart-wad.”

umm.. who isn't?

I’m going to need to borrow your disc jockey.

Can you guess the brilliant plan? Oh yeah, I forgot how much of a fucking ass the DJ was. I wonder how they will get him to cooperate. Ah, Taxi, you brilliant mare. I love Gyro's little speech on how important volume control is being a good DJ.  I love that Hardy can understand and relate and give his blessing... Hold on, I need to find a gif or a video to demonstrate this.

Not what I was thinking of but Man, yes, that fits.'

“People! Sorry for the fart, I had the nachos tonight! Heh, just kidding, cats. Your lord of the dance just popped a fuse back here. Gimme ten minutes to get it all cleaned up! Meanwhile, drinks at the bar at seventy five percent off! Make sure to tip your waiters and waitresses.”

They find the waitress that I needed help naming other day was their spy and the listening device broke.

While Taxi drags Hardy off to the in house clinic Chessie did an authors note, what does it say?

Oh, Chessie is doing a call out to two people who helped them get this out. :D

Oh hey look, the chapter ended. Lets have a peek at the comments, 38

Snow Coy lightly rubbed his throat and coughed, keeping his eyes fixed unblinkingly on Hay Maker’s face. Reaching up he very tenderly touched the bigger pony’s cheek, and murmured a genuinely regretful, “I’m sorry.”

Okay so thats a Pinkie and a Flutters descendant. I’m gonna need to start making a checklist.

AHHHH HOW DID I MISS THAT???

So far, I've noticed:
Slip Stitch = Pinkie Pie
Scarlet = Big Mac
Coy Snow = Fluttershy

Are they descendants, by any chance?

Ehh... i dont see the Big Mac and Scarlet being lined up

Chapter 10: "The Spy Who Wubbed Me" -This can be The Spy who loved me or The Spy who shagged me.

Master Snow Coy almost reminds me of Mr. Rogers. At least that's the voice I'm giving him.

No, I'm not putting a picture of Austin Powers on my blog, you can just click the link.

Flutterbrave Whew, he was HARD to write. I mean, fingernail pullingly hard. I did enjoy him though. He was enormous fun!

The Mop Is AFK Heh, you're welcome darling.

Browncoat Spike And you have hit the nail directly on the head. My dearly beloved co-writer is a huge fan of both 'The Wire' and the book on which it is based. He forced me to sit down and watch several episodes. Jim McNulty was a heavy influence for Hardy.

Really good chapter; love the continuing references to the show with Snow Coy's use of "The Stare"

I don't know why, but Hard Boiled is reminding me more and more of John McClane or Jimmy McNullty from The Wire, in that he is a very competent cop and a sympathetic character, but he has all these personal flaws that make him fascinating to read. I could talk about this chapter's good points for the rest of the day, but the highlight for me was the interaction between Hardy and Taxi at the end; if those two aren't romantically involved by the end of this story, I will be very surprised.
